15U, 14U, 13U & 12U

Thank you to everyone who came to the 2023-2024 tryouts for our 15U, 14U and 13U teams. We had a large number of players trying out this year, so we have created two additional teams, a 15U Silver and a 12U Purple team. We are currently securing the gym space and having holes put into the gym floor for the net system at the Westchester Torah Academy. These two teams will start after Thanksgiving as we need to get the gym ready for practice.

As with previous years, we continued to place an emphasis on keeping our athletes playing at their appropriate age group according to GEVA Guidelines. We believe this will lead to a greater learning experience and more competitive teams. Our team selections were carefully chosen based on many areas, especially positional needs on each team.

Each team will have a certain number of rostered players (12-14 rostered players). Some teams will also have up to 3 alternate/practice players. The alternate players will practice with the team and will not participate in tournaments. The cost for a practice player is $850 for the season. If a player does not accept a position on a team, a practice player MAY be asked to join another team in our program at the beginning of the season. If the player remains a practice player and there is positional need for an upcoming tournament, the practice player may be asked to participate in that event.  

Make sure to refer to the 2023-2024 Information Meeting Handout for specific details on each team. The 15U, 14U,13U and 12U players will be offered a position on a team on Monday, November 6th by 9pm and will commit to the club on Saturday, November 11th through an online registration.  This registration will only be available on 11/11 on the LHVA Website; opening at 12:00am and closing at 11:59pm. If a player does not commit on 11/11 by midnight, we will offer the position to another player on 11/12. Players must also attend the Commitment Day on Sunday, November 12th at the New Rochelle YMCA between 1-4pm to submit payment and paperwork, and to be sized for their uniforms. (*see table below for assigned time for each age group)   

If a player did not make any team and a position becomes available, we will contact you as soon as we can.

Mandatory Online Commitment- 11/11

All players accepting a position offered on a team MUST accept the offer through a registration link available ONLY on Saturday, November 11th, 2023. The registration link will OPEN at 12am on 11/11/23 and CLOSE at 11:59pm. The link will be available on the main page of the LHVA website. 

 

15U, 14U, 13U & 12U players will be offered a position on the team on 11/6 and will accept the position on 11/11.

Payment Information 

The payment schedule is available on each player's commitment contract. The 2nd payment is due at the end of January (see player contract) and the 3rd payment is due at the end of February (see player contract). Payment can be made by checks payable to LHVA, credit card, or cash. If you are paying by check, the player name and team name must be on the memo line of the check. If you are paying cash, you will save 5% off the cost.  Cash payments can ONLY be made for the first payment. If you are paying by credit card, there is an additional fee of $2.50 plus a 3.5% service charge. If anyone wants to pay by credit card, they must email us at info@lhvavolleyball.com and an invoice will be emailed to the account.

Scholarships

  • This year, LHVA will be offering five $500 scholarships for players on travel or regional teams. 

  • PLAYERS need to submit a one page typed essay explaining why they deserve this scholarship.

  • PARENTS need to submit a brief narrative describing the financial need for the money. 

  • Must be emailed to info@lhvavolleyball.com on or before 12/11 with the Subject Titled: 2023-2024 LHVA Scholarship.

  • Players will be notified by email by 12/18.
