2021 Spring/Summer Clinics
Lower Hudson Volleyball Association and Westchester Volleyball NY will be running a Juniors Beach Doubles Program this summer for current 6 th -12 th graders. This NEW EXTENDED 7-week program is designed to help volleyball players expand their knowledge and skill of the game. Playing beach volleyball will allow each athlete the chance to improve their indoor performance as well.
Safety
We are following the NY State/CDC guidelines. Please see below for some of our safety requirements:
Temperature checks are taken at the back gate of the beach upon arrival.
It is mandatory that players and coaches must wear a mask all times except during mask breaks and while drinking.
Players must use the hand sanitizer before practice, at every water break (before they start drinking) and at the end of practice. There are pumps at each court in orange buckets.
Cones will be at each court to social distance for water breaks. We will aim to keep the same 6 players per cone.
Please remember that mask breaks can be taken whenever needed. Players should excuse themselves off the court and 6 feet from any other person.
Each court will have their own set of volleyballs which will be sanitized before and after they are used.

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lower Hudson Volleyball Association will start the season with a Training Only format. We will also NOT be able to host tryouts this year. Therefore, we are offering a spot to all returning players from the 2019-2020 Teams. Returning players are asked to commit to playing for LHVA on Tuesday, October 6th through an online registration link. After this date, we will open up the spaces available to non-returning LHVA players.

When will we cancel?
GEVA makes every effort to fulfill our commitment to teams and clubs by conducting all scheduled tournaments. Sometimes things get in the way. Our inclement weather practice has been to hold the tournament if at all possible (even if some teams are more effected than others). Exceptions are made in dangerous situations, and those beyond our control. If the weather is bad, (snow and ice) your safety is paramount. Do not drive if it you don't feel safe.
Why do we cancel?
We will cancel for two reasons:
1. The staff determines the weather and driving conditions are too hazardous.
2. If the facility where we are holding tournament cancels our access.
When do I know?
When possible, a decision is made prior to 9 pm the evening prior. If a situation worsens overnight, the decision is adjusted prior to 5:30 am the day of the tournament. Once cancelled, we will not have a mind change.
How do I know?
We will send information through webpoint to Club directors, and AES to participating Clubs. We will also post on juniors and home page of geva.org
Safety is paramount.
Do not drive if it you don't feel safe.
Must be registered with GEVA in order to start practicing on 10/13.
