“Hello, my name is Sofia Hynes. I am running this year's Serve-A-Thon. I am looking to raise money for LHVA and The Danny Fund. (The Danny Fund is an organization that helps families with children that have catastrophic illnesses). Anyone can sign up and participate, along with each team making a basket with a theme of your team's choice to donate. This year, we will still be running our 2024 Serve-A-Thon, but it will take place at each team’s last practice. Sofia Hynes, a 17s player, is taking the lead on this event.  

Players are encouraged to get as many sponsors as possible to help support The Danny Fund and the LHVA Scholarship Fund. A prize will be given to the player on each team who raises the most money from the Serve-A-Thon. Please see the attached documents for the Serve-A-Thon form and player instructions.

We will also be raising money through raffle baskets and a Birthday Board. Tickets for the baskets will be available to purchase at the End of Season Event on Saturday, May 11th at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck. If you are interested in participating in the Birthday Board, you can purchase a date(s) for $20 each and your name will be added to the date you chose on the board. At the end of the event, a date will be randomly selected providing the winner a cash prize.  More information about the Birthday Board will be emailed out and posted on the LHVA Facebook page soon.

All money raised from the Birthday Board will go directly to The Danny Fund.

This registration link will allow you to register for the LHVA Girls Tryouts for the 2023-2024 18U-16U TEAMS ONLY.

 THERE IS A SEPARATE REGISTRATION FOR 15U-13U TRYOUTS THAT OPENS ON OCTOBER 15TH.

Make sure to log in to your account in order to Register for Tryouts. If you are unable to see the registration link above, CLICK HERE to register. 

*Cost/Fee: $80 non-refundable (does not include GEVA Player Registration) 

After completing the tryout registration with LHVA, the player must register with GEVA (separate cost). Bring proof of GEVA membership and GEVA Medical Release Form to the registration before tryouts on October 1st at Level Fitness. (15 minutes before start time)

LHVA 23-24 Zoom Parent/Player Information Meeting on 9/10 @ 5pm

Are you interested in learning more about the 2023-2024 LHVA Club Season? Join us on Sunday, September 10th at 5pm for a Zoom Information Meeting. There are many new exciting opportunities this year as we are offering travel tournaments to many of our teams. We are also bringing back our 18 Regional team. Some details can be found on the main page of our website, www.lhvavolleyball.com. However, we will be going over more specific details for the season including practice locations, times, tournaments, etc for each team. Also, new this year are our tryouts for our 16s-18s, which will be earlier this year, taking place on October 1st and 8th. Tryouts for our 13s-15s will be the last weekend of October and first weekend of November.

When will we cancel?

GEVA makes every effort to fulfill our commitment to teams and clubs by conducting all scheduled tournaments. Sometimes things get in the way. Our inclement weather practice has been to hold the tournament if at all possible (even if some teams are more effected than others). Exceptions are made in dangerous situations, and those beyond our control. If the weather is bad, (snow and ice) your safety is paramount. Do not drive if it you don't feel safe.

Why do we cancel?

We will cancel for two reasons: 

1. The staff determines the weather and driving conditions are too hazardous.

2. If the facility where we are holding tournament cancels our access.

When do I know?

When possible, a decision is made prior to 9 pm the evening prior. If a situation worsens overnight, the decision is adjusted prior to 5:30 am the day of the tournament. Once cancelled, we will not have a mind change.

How do I know?

We will send information through webpoint to Club directors, and AES to participating Clubs. We will also post on juniors and home page of geva.org

Safety is paramount.

Do not drive if it you don't feel safe.
