2022-2023 TEAMS 

Thank you to everyone who came to the 2022-2023 tryouts. This year, we continued to place an emphasis on keeping our athletes playing at their appropriate age group according to GEVA Guidelines. We believe this will lead to a greater learning experience and more competitive teams. 

We had an amazing turnout this year with 300 athletes trying out. Each travel team will have up to 12 players and each regional team will have up to 13 players. All teams will also have up to 3 alternate players. The alternate players will practice with the team and will not participate in tournaments. The cost for a practice player is $750 for the season. If a player does not accept a position on a team, an alternate MAY be asked to join another team in our program. 

Make sure to refer to the 2022-2023 Information Meeting Handout for specific details on each team. The players will been offered a position on a team on Monday, November 7th by 9pm and will commit to the club on Saturday, November 12th through an online registration. This registration will only be available on 11/12 on the LHVA Website; opening at 12:00am and closing at 11:59pm. If a player does not commit on 11/12 by midnight, we will offer the position to another player on 11/13. Players must also attend the Commitment Day on Sunday, November 13th at the New Rochelle YMCA between 2-5pm to submit payment and paperwork, and to be sized for their uniforms. (*see table below for assigned time for each age group)   

If a player did not make any team and a position becomes available, we will contact you as soon as we can.

This form ONLY needs to be completed by NEW players practicing at the New Rochelle YMCA. Returning Players who have previously practiced at New Rochelle YMCA have to ONLY bring their membership card to renew their account.

All players accepting a position on a team MUST accept the offer online on Saturday, November 12th from 12:00am -11:59pm. In addition, they must attend the Commitment Day on Sunday, November 13th. Each player was offered a position on Monday, November 7th by 9pm.

• LHVA First Payment: Credit Card, Cash or Check to LHVA 
• YMCA Membership Form (ONLY for NEW players practicing at the New Rochelle YMCA. Returning Players who have previously practiced at New Rochelle YMCA have to ONLY bring their membership card to renew their account)

PLAYERS WILL ALSO GET SIZED FOR THEIR UNIFORMS! If you do not get your uniform sizes in on this date, your uniform will be delayed and may not arrive for the first tournament. 

Payment Information 

The payment schedule is available on each player's commitment contract. The 2nd payment is due at the end of January (see player contract) and the 3rd payment is due at the end of February (see player contract. Payment can be made by checks payable to LHVA, credit card, or cash. If you are paying by check, the player name and team name must be on the memo line of the check. If you are paying cash, you will save 5% off the cost. If you are paying by credit card, there is an additional fee of $2 plus a 3.5% service charge. If anyone wants to pay by credit card, they must email us at info@lhvavolleyball.com and an invoice will be emailed to the account.

Scholarships

• This year, LHVA will be offering five $500 scholarships for players on travel or regional teams. 

• PLAYERS need to submit a one page typed essay explaining why they deserve this scholarship.

• PARENTS need to submit a brief narrative describing the financial need for the money. 

• Must be emailed to info@lhvavolleyball.com on or before 12/12 with the Subject Titled: 2022-2023 LHVA Scholarship.

• Players will be notified by email by 12/19.
